Many doctors called on people to take the seasonal flu vaccine, especially those with low immunity, in addition to adhering to the general safety and preventative measures to maintain community health.

Raeda Al-Qutob, head of the National Center for Combating Epidemics and Communicable Diseases, stated that taking the flu vaccine and the COVID-19 vaccine simultaneously is not a problem since each vaccine prevents a particular disease.

Kamel Abo Al-Sel, a general health consultant at the national vaccination department at the Ministry of Health, said that the ministry received 78,000 flu vaccines as a first batch and that the priority of taking the vaccine will be given to the ministry’s staff, indicating that more batches will come to Jordan in the upcoming weeks.

The consultant urged over 60-year-old people and those with high-risk conditions to take the vaccine, pointing out the vaccine is available in the private sector.
