Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar said that the “full and precise” implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Islamabad on June 18 represents the only way forward, stressing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in achieving lasting peace.

Dar made the remarks during a meeting with Natalie Baker, the U.S. chargé d’affaires in Pakistan, where the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation and regional developments.
In a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry on Friday, Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and security while emphasizing the protection of its national interests. Baker praised Pakistan’s “constructive” role in promoting regional peace and stability.
The United States and Israel launched an attack on Iran on February 28, prompting Tehran to respond with attacks on countries in the region and strikes against commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. A ceasefire brokered by Pakistan subsequently took effect in April.
Washington and Tehran later reached a framework understanding to halt the fighting, but the truce experienced violations in July.
