Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yousef Shamali, in a press statement, said that the ministry has enhanced its cadres with 500 inspectors in markets as of next Saturday, in accordance with Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh's instructions.

He stressed that the ministry is continuing its intensive control campaigns to follow up on compliance with price caps and to monitor the prices of commodities on a daily basis, especially the foodstuff ones.

He also stressed that the foodstuff reserve is sufficient for local consumption, and that the ministry will intervene directly to control the prices due to any "unjustified" price increase.
