The Public Security Directorate (PSD) on Wednesday destroyed large quantities of narcotics seized across 1,121 cases of trafficking, smuggling, and possession, following the completion of all necessary legal procedures and the issuance of final judicial rulings.

The destroyed substances included approximately 16,890,000 Captagon pills, 793 kg of amphetamine, 500 kg of hashish, 105.5 kg of marijuana, 16.5 kg of crystal meth, 30.75 kg of Joker powder, and 32.5 kg of synthetic hashish, in addition to 5,000 bags of Joker, 95,000 narcotic pills, 1.5 kg of cocaine, and 800 grams of heroin.
The PSD noted that the Anti-Narcotics Department continues to execute qualitative and proactive operations based on an integrated security system grounded in specialized intelligence and field operations. These efforts are carried out in coordination and cooperation with the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army, the Jordan Customs Department, and relevant security agencies to firmly and effectively target smuggling, trafficking, and promotion networks.
The disposal process was executed inside specialized incinerators reaching temperatures of up to 1,000°C under the supervision of a dedicated committee chaired by Assistant Director of Public Security for Traffic Affairs, Brigadier General Eng. Muhanad Al-Bataineh, along with the Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, Director of the Laboratories and Evidence Department, and the State Security Court Prosecutor, in full compliance with legal procedures and approved protocols.
The PSD reaffirmed that the war on drugs is ongoing, emphasizing that field operations will continue alongside preventive, awareness, and treatment efforts to safeguard society, preserve its security and stability, and protect citizens from the dangers and destructive effects of this scourge.
