IATA Director General Willie Walsh said in a press statement on Wednesday, that the IATA passport is a health certificate that will enter the operational phase after months of testing, stressing that the passport has proven its effectiveness in managing and organizing health data for travelers, which governments around the world require.

He added that the major airlines in the world will soon provide the IATA passport application service for travelers, as it has proven it’s safe for travelers and can allow them to check the requirements of their flights through the application.

The application will reduce lines and congestion in airlines and airports, he added.
