Public Security Director, Major General Dr. Obaidallah Maaytah, met on Saturday with Samar Al-Hajj Hassan, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Center for Human Rights, and Jamal Al-Shamayleh, the Center’s Commissioner General, to discuss ways to enhance ongoing cooperation and coordination. The meeting aimed to further reinforce the principles of justice, the rule of law, transparency, and human rights.

During the meeting, Major General Maaytah emphasized that the Public Security Directorate operates according to a clear strategy based on the principles of justice and the rule of law, applied without discrimination or favoritism, and within a framework of transparency and respect for human rights.
He added that the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, concerning the protection of rights and human dignity, serve as a guiding light for the Directorate’s work and its ongoing efforts to offer the best security services, while continuously developing the justice and transparency system and upholding human rights.
Major General Maaytah highlighted the importance of the existing collaboration with the National Center for Human Rights and the continuous work to strengthen it in order to improve service quality across various units of the Public Security Directorate, in line with human rights principles.
For her part, Samar Al-Hajj Hassan praised the ongoing cooperation between the Center and the Directorate, as well as the Directorate’s direct attention to all issues and inquiries received by the Center. She noted that this reflects a solid institutional judicial system established by the Public Security Directorate. She stressed that the meeting was aimed at discussing ways to enhance the effective partnership between the Center and the Directorate in a manner that serves the judicial process and protects human rights.
