Proposal floated for adding Defense Law to human rights review

AMMAN — The ministerial committee for reviewing the national comprehensive plan for human rights has proposed adding the currently in effect Defense Law to the list of legislations to be reviewed and developed, the human rights coordinator at the Prime Ministry, Nathir Awamleh, has said.اضافة اعلان

According to Awamleh, the law was proposed to be discussed by the committee, but no decision has been taken yet in this regard.

The government has been reviewing the National Human Rights Plan 2016-2025 for months now, and has already identified 51 gaps, related to the contents of the plan or mean of implementing its activities, according to Al-Ghad.

Defense Law Number 13 of 1992 went into effect on March 17, 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
