Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh gave a presentation on the main themes that the GAM worked on within the projects of electronic transformation, public transport, investment, and the development of the legislative system, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

During the event, attended by government, diplomatic, and private-sector representatives, Shawarbeh indicated that the GAM has established an investment arm, represented by Amman Vision Investment andDevelopment (AVID), with the aim of enhancing investment revenue.

The GAM, he said, worked on several pieces of legislation, highlighting one that unified the system of inspection for businesses.

Shawarbeh furthermore stressed the municipality’s electronic transformation project, which focuses on developing “smart city” infrastructure and public-transport passenger tracking, as well as the infrastructure for the Bus Rapid Transit.

He underlined that the city’s cleanliness is one of the GAM's ongoing priorities, including waste management projects that convert waste into liquefied gas and converting it into energy; a project that will reduce the municipality’s energy costs by 45 percent, Petra reported.
