AMMAN — Minister of Health Feras Al-Hawari stated on Monday that the decision to
vaccinate the below-18 age group has no link to students’ return to in-person
learning.
Hawari added that vaccinations will not be mandatory for children
returning to in-person education, and stressed that the ministry did not
release any statements regarding this matter.
The ministry’s only concern is that students, especially those
who are under 10, might pass the COVID-19 virus to their parents, according to
the minister.
Thus, parents must pledge to take the vaccine as per Covid procedures,
according to the minister.
The ministry has
authorized the Pfizer vaccine for children, which remains optional, according
to Hawari. He added that Sinopharm and other anti-COVID vaccines will not be
administrated to children.
