His remarks came during a meeting he sponsored that brought together leaders of the Labor Party with young men and women from the “Watan” Initiative, under the theme “Youth as Drivers of Change”, attended by the party’s Secretary-General Dr. Rula Al-Hroub, the Ministry’s Secretary-General Dr. Ali Al-Khawaldeh, and the Initiative’s President, Ayham Al-Darabaa.
Al-Oudat stated that the modernization project has provided a legislative and political environment that enables youth to play their role in political life and participate effectively in public life. This includes the possibility of forming parliamentary majorities through constitutional amendments, political legislation, and the regulations derived from them.
He stressed that engagement in political life can only be effective through program-based political parties capable of reflecting citizens' concerns and aspirations, highlighting the critical role of political parties in boosting youth participation in partisan work.
Al-Oudat noted that political modernization was launched through a clear political will and genuine national desire to enhance participation in decision-making and achieve political effectiveness by ensuring the inclusion of youth in political life and involving them in partisan work—making them active participants in shaping their present and future across all fields.
For her part, Dr. Al-Hroub emphasized that youth are the energy driving change and the key to societal progress, pointing out that Jordan offers numerous opportunities for youth participation in various initiatives.
She urged young people to be proactive and purposeful, serving as positive agents of change within their communities. She noted that this workshop marks the beginning of a series of youth-focused sessions to be launched by the Labor Party across all regions of the Kingdom.
Ayham Al-Darabaa emphasized that youth are not merely spectators but true partners in shaping the future. He called on political parties to open their doors to youth, integrate their ideas and needs into party platforms, and implement them in practice.
The workshop’s activities included dialogue sessions that explored key legislation governing political and partisan work, and emphasized the importance of youth participation in political parties and elections.
