MP criticizes trilateral resource deal with Israel

AMMAN — MP Zainab Al-Bedoul criticized the government on Thursday for its refusal to provide information regarding the terms of the water purchase agreement between Jordan and Israel. Under the agreement, the UAE will build a solar farm in Jordan and send electricity to Israel, who will provide Jordan with 50 million cubic meters of water. Bedoul said that withholding information and data related to the country and its people is unacceptable, referring to the signing of the agreement in Dubai, the UAE, and she stressed the need to amend any constitutional article that might allow the withholding of such information from representatives of the Jordanian people. She alleged that parties and major companies benefit from concealing this information to achieve their goals and interests, without considering the interests and views of the Jordanian people, according to the Ammon news website.
