Jordan sees 4 COVID-19 deaths, 3,372 cases within a week

AMMAN — The Ministry of Health announced Sunday that 3,372 new cases and four deaths related to COVID-19 were recorded in the Kingdom between August 27 and September 2, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

At least 19,850 PCR tests were conducted in the specified week, with 17 percent of the total being positive.

Currently, there are 2,903 active COVID-19 cases countrywide, down 13.4 percent from the preceding week.

The ministry said the number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients is 62, compared with 59 in the earlier week.

On the national vaccination program, the ministry pointed out that the number of shots administered during the week at 1,529 for the first jab, 1,566 for the second, and 867 for the booster dose.

The total number of first dose recipients now stands at 4,820,365, at a 75.2 percent rate for 18 years and older, 4,557,044 for the second jab, at 71 percent, and 677,177 for the booster shot.
