Speaking in an interview with Jordanian television, Hayari discussed the imperative need for an anti-drone system, highlighting the growing threat of drones along their borders, particularly in drug trafficking, Al Mamlaka TV reported.

He explained, "We have requested from the American side to enhance our air defense system - the Jordanian air defense - with Patriot missiles. This system is costly and cannot be effectively implemented with local resources, necessitating the need for a strategic partnership."

He emphasized the continuous threats Jordan faces, including the presence of ballistic missiles from various directions such as the north, east, and west. He emphasized that the Patriot missile system is the most effective countermeasure against such threats.

He further elaborated, stating, "The Patriot is a defensive weapon used for protection. If there is a threat to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, we will employ this weapon and these resources for defense."

Hayari highlighted Jordan's strong relationships with multiple allies and expressed their willingness to leverage these relationships when the need arises. Furthermore, he emphasized that Jordan's strategic decision to partner with the United States has endured for over 72 years.
