Jordan battered by polar front

AMMAN — A cold front of polar origin crossed Jordan Wednesday bringing heavy rainfall, light snow in central and southern highlands during the day amid low temperatures. اضافة اعلان

By evening a second cold front was expected to cross bringing snowfall and hail at altitudes above 800m , including parts of West Amman.

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) called on the public to exercise caution and vigilance during the prevailing weather conditions.

A statement by the PSD spokesperson advised citizens to stay away from valleys and low-lying areas and relocate to higher ground to avoid being in the path of flash floods.

There have been warnings against low visibility and possible frost in the early hours of Thursday.
