— The Jordan Valley Authority announced on Wednesday that the long-term annual
average of rainfall has increased to 74 percent of the long-term annual
average, which is approximately 8.1 billion cubic meters per year, as of
Wednesday morning, March 20, 2024.
The
ministry added that the percentage of rainfall from the long-term annual
average on the same date last year was 90 percent. Moreover, the amount of
water from rainfall that entered the reservoirs in the past twenty-four hours
reached approximately 2 million cubic meters as of this morning. This raised
the total storage in the main reservoirs to 140.5 million cubic meters, with a
total storage capacity percentage of 48.7 percent out of a total capacity of
288.128 million cubic meters. The highest amount of rainfall recorded in Madaba
during the past 24 hours was 27 mm, and rainfall during the past 24 hours
covered most areas of the Kingdom, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
