Jordan, Saudi meeting enhances cooperation in agriculture

AMMAN — A meeting was held at the Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture on Thursday, aimed to bolster a partnership effort and collaboration between the Kingdom and Saudi Arabia. Attended by key officials including Jordan's Minister of Agriculture, Engineer Khaled Al-Hanifat, Minister of Water and Irrigation, Engineer Mohammed Al-Najjar, and Minister of Environment, Dr. Ma'awiya Al-Radaideh, along with Saudi Arabia's Minister of Water, Agriculture, and Environment, Engineer Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley.اضافة اعلان

The meeting, held under the leadership of the two countries, focused on exploring avenues for cooperation that would serve its people, Hala News reported.

Dispatch to study the epidemiological situation
During the gathering, Minister Al-Hanifat announced a crucial agreement reached with the Saudi delegation. As part of this understanding, a technical team from the Saudi government will be dispatched within the next 48 hours to assess the epidemiological situation and develop appropriate strategies for managing it effectively.

The outcomes of this assessment will play a vital role in determining the necessary measures for Jordanian livestock exports to Saudi Arabia ahead of the upcoming Eid Al-Adha.

Minister Al-Hanifat emphasized the profound nature of Jordanian-Saudi relations, stemming from the directives of leadership in both countries.

Exchange of expertise
He highlighted a recently signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, which aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise in water conservation, techniques, and mechanisms within the water sector, as well as environmental projects.

The MoU aligns with the shared directions and plans of the two nations, particularly in expanding green areas and enhancing knowledge in the field of agriculture.

The meeting delved into several key topics related to the agricultural, environmental, and water sectors, acknowledging their shared importance and the potential for joint initiatives that will yield mutual benefits.

The discussions marked a pivotal moment in the ongoing collaboration between Jordan and Saudi Arabia. By fostering closer ties and pursuing shared objectives, both countries strive to promote sustainable development, prosperity, and stability in the region.
