Jordan condemned on Wednesday the continued incursions into the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif by Israeli extremists under the protection of the Israeli police. The Kingdom specifically denounced today’s incursion by an extremist Israeli minister and his provocative calls for further incursions, labeling them a flagrant violation of international law and an unacceptable escalation that must stop immediately.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, affirmed the Kingdom's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of these ongoing violations. He described the minister's actions as a blatant breach of the existing historical and legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque and a rejected attempt to impose temporal and spatial division. He further emphasized that Israel holds no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem or its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
Al-Majali warned of the grave consequences of such inflammatory rhetoric and the continued illegal violations of sacred sites. He called upon the international community to take a firm stand to compel Israel, as the occupying power, to halt all illegal practices and violations. He noted that these actions are a continuation of the extremist Israeli government's policy aimed at further dangerous escalation and unilateral illegal measures in the occupied West Bank.
The spokesperson reiterated that the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, in its entirety of 144 dunams, is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims. He reaffirmed that the Jerusalem Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places, is the sole legal authority with exclusive jurisdiction to manage all affairs of the Mosque and regulate entry to it.
