AMMAN – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the ongoing incursions by extremist settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif, the latest of which occurred on Tuesday. These actions included provocative practices, such as raising Israeli flags within the mosque's courtyards, alongside obstructive measures by the Israeli police.

The Ministry described these actions as a flagrant violation of international law and the existing historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites.
The Ministry's official spokesperson, Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali, affirmed the Kingdom's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the repeated incursions. He characterized them as unacceptable incitement aimed at imposing a new reality in Al-Aqsa Mosque by attempting to partition it temporally and spatially. Al-Majali emphasized that Israel holds no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem.
Furthermore, Al-Majali warned of the grave consequences of these ongoing violations and provocations. He called on the international community to take a firm stance to compel Israel, as the Occupying Power, to halt all irresponsible practices and continuous violations against Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem, and to cease unilateral measures in the occupied West Bank.
The spokesperson reiterated that the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in its entire area of 144 dunams, is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims. He underscored that the Jerusalem Awqaf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, which is affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places, is the sole legal authority with exclusive jurisdiction to manage the mosque's affairs and regulate entry to it.
