Irshaidat said in a press conference on Tuesday that the association did not agree to anything at the meeting that was held on suggested amendments to the Implementation Law. He added that the association may have to stop its participation in meetings of the Lower House Legal Committee as it continues to ignore the association’s proposals on draft bills.

He added that the association does not accept that its presence at committee proceedings is ceremonial. He added that the committee did not take any of the association’s proposals either through written submissions or orally.

Irshaidat added that the association will resort to legal and constitutional means to confront the amendments with the aim of preserving the Constitution and stopping the rush to adopt laws in a manner that is unfavorable to the country and citizens.

He indicated that despite the association’s rejection of the two draft laws as a whole, it had made proposals in the hope of reaching consensus around them.
