AMMAN — Jordan’s rank in
COVID-19 cases per capita globally has dropped to 35, the Health Ministry’s
secretary general for epidemiological affairs, Adel Balbesi, said
on Monday, reassuring the public that the second wave has come to an end.
However,
Balbesi indicated that a third wave might be on the horizon for Jordan, which raises
concerns regarding the absence of precautionary measures among citizens,
especially during the past two weeks.
Vaccines must be made available
in larger amounts to match the huge turnout from citizens, he added, calling
for commitment to social distancing and masks.
