AMMAN — According to an official source,
the recent reshuffle of Prime Minister
Bisher Al-Khasawneh’s Cabinet is the
first step toward merging ministries in accordance with the output of the
Public Sector Development Committee, Jo24 reported.

It also gave
enough time for the dialogue conducted by the Economic and Social Council in
this regard with all relevant parties, and to consult specialists in order to
reach consensus, according to the source.
The source said that merging the ministries is a
decision taken by the
Public Sector Development Committee, adding that “we are
waiting for the results of the dialogue, and the government recommendations”.
The source added that the government’s priority is
to restore institutional culture and employees’ confidence in themselves and in
the services they provide to the people, and to make the development and
modernization strides the government is achieving felt by the people.
