AMMAN — The government on Wednesday said it turned down a request to hold an activity of the “Islamic Action Front” party to mark the Prophet’s birthday because the party had overridden the proper authorities, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior said the party requested to hold the observance from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiques when the appropriate authority would be the Ministry of Interior.

He explained the party’s action to override the Ministry of Interior has political connotations and unjustifiable provocations.

The spokesperson said that the ministry was “taken aback” when it had seen a copy of the party’s request to hold the event on social media, adding that the action was inconsiderate to the correspondence protocol between government institutions and political parties.
