Foreign ministry: Jordan follows up closely on crisis developments in Ukraine

AMMAN—The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates confirmed that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is following with deep concern and regret on the developments of the crisis in Ukraine, the deterioration of the situation and the escalation of tension, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra. اضافة اعلان

The ministry's Spokesperson Ambassador Haitham Abul Foul stressed Jordan's unwavering stance that rejects using force or threatening to utilize it when settling conflicts and the need to respect international law, the UN Charter, the sovereignty and regional integrity of states and the principles of good neighborliness.

He also stressed the need for dialogue to be prevailed, intensifying efforts for de-escalation and resolving the crisis by peaceful means, in accordance with the international law and in a way that guarantees security and stability.

Jordan, he added, is calling for taking all necessary measures to protect civilians and guarantee their safety.

The ministry reiterated Jordan's support all diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and reaching a peaceful solution to the crisis in a way that respects Ukraine's sovereignty.
