Black liquid in Dead Sea not a petroleum substance – ministry

AMMAN — The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources confirmed on Monday, that there is no particles of petroleum products in the black liquid oozing from the Dead Sea as shown in videos circulating online, according to Al Ghad.اضافة اعلان

In a statement, the ministry said that their geology team visited the site where the black liquid appeared in the Dead Sea. The site was examined and the team found that the liquid is simply bad smelling water, as that the rocky layers in the area consist of silt, mud, and dark black salt, and that part of It dissolved in water to create this effect of a viscous oozing liquid, which does not contain petroleum substances.
