Al-Awran explained that the elevated levels recorded by air quality monitoring stations are due solely to increased dust concentrations in the atmosphere and do not indicate any gas leakage or abnormal rise in gas levels in the air.

He noted that the air monitoring station in the southern industrial zone operates 24 hours a day, with its readings continuously monitored by Aqaba Authority staff to ensure environmental and worker safety.

The Commissioner stressed that any reported cases of breathing difficulties or suffocation were caused only by dust, not by vapors or leaked gases, confirming that the environmental conditions in the southern industrial area are normal.
