AMMAN — Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places, Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalaileh, unveiled an integrated plan in preparation for the Holy Month of Ramadan, featuring a variety of programs ranging from mosque maintenance to religious guidance and outreach.

During a meeting at the Government Communication Forum on Tuesday, Dr. Al-Khalaileh confirmed that the plan includes holding the "Hashemite Scientific Councils" under Royal Patronage every Friday throughout the Holy Month. These sessions will host a selection of scholars from within the Kingdom and abroad to discuss topics related to the Holy Qur'an, Prophetic Sunnah, Consensus, and Analogy.
The Minister noted that the Zakat Fund has launched a comprehensive initiative involving the distribution of 12,000 coupons to underprivileged families, in addition to a campaign to distribute 40,000 food parcels through Zakat committees to eligible recipients.
Furthermore, Al-Khalaileh explained that the Ministry will hand over 15 productive rehabilitation projects across various regions of the Kingdom, valued at JD45,000. The plan also includes providing cash "Eidiya" (Eid gifts) to poor families and orphans receiving monthly aid from the Zakat Fund, as well as distributing Zakat al-Fitr to those in need at the end of the Holy Month.
Regarding Islamic sanctities, the Minister emphasized that the Ministry has conducted maintenance and restoration for the facilities of Al-Aqsa Mosque. Additionally, field clinics have been prepared and stationed within the mosque’s courtyards to serve visitors and worshippers.
Dr. Al-Khalaileh concluded that these measures aim to bolster charitable, religious, and social programs during the Holy Month, ensuring the best possible services for both citizens and holy sites.
