ACI reports exports worth JD926M in the past 2 months

  • AMMAN – On Saturday, the Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) disclosed its export figures for the past two months, revealing a total value of JD926 million. This marks a significant decrease compared to the same period in 2023, when exports reached JD1.272 billion.اضافة اعلان

    According to statistical analysis, exports from five sectors witnessed growth, while others experienced declines ranging from 5 percent for food, agricultural, and animal wealth sectors to 58 percent for mining, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.

    During the period under review, India, the US, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq emerged as the primary destinations for ACI exports, accounting for a collective sum of JD573 million. Notably, exports to the US saw an 8 percent increase, reaching approximately JD211 million, compared to JD195 million in the same period last year.

    Saudi Arabia and Iraq also showed positive trends, with exports increasing by 15 percent and 10 percent, respectively. However, exports to India recorded a significant decline of 69 percent, dropping to JD73 million from JD238 million in the corresponding period last year.

    The breakdown of exports from the ACI during the past two months of 2024 is as follows:
  • Mining industries: JD196 million
  • Engineering, electrical, and information technology: JD157 million
  • Chemicals and cosmetics: JD152 million
  • Food, agricultural, and animal wealth sectors: JD132 million
  • Medical supplies and equipment: JD101 million
  • Leather and textile industries: JD75 million
  • Packaging, Paper, and Office Supplies: JD46 million
  • Plastics and Rubber: JD45 million
  • Construction: Approximately JD19 million
  • Wood and Furniture Industries: JD4 million
