2.2m students to return to classrooms as second semester begins Sunday

The Ministry of Education has confirmed that all preparations have been completed, with 2.2 million students across 7,500 schools ready to return to the classroom, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

According to ministry spokesman Ahmad Masaafeh, the schools are staffed with 170,000 teachers and administrators who are ready to welcome the students.
Classrooms have been heated to ensure a “comfortable and suitable study environment for the students.”

Unchanged academic calendarThe academic calendar remains unchanged, he said, and classes will be held according to the previously announced hours and dates for both one-shift and two-shift schools.

Textbooks have been made available in education departments' warehouses and will be distributed to schools in preparation for the start of the semester, he added.

Classrooms have been heated to ensure a “comfortable and suitable study environment for the students,” he said.
