Orange Jordan Hosts Fourth “SuperCoders” Workshop Under the Theme “Coding for Planet Earth”
In line with its ongoing commitment to innovation and social responsibility, Orange Jordan, in collaboration with Dar Al-Handasah and the Jordan Green Building Council, and through the Orange Coding School at the Orange Digital Center, held the fourth local edition of the “SuperCoders” workshop under the theme “Coding for Planet Earth.” The initiative, implemented annually across the Middle East and Africa since 2021, coincided with the 30th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30).
The workshop targeted children aged 10 to 13, aiming to raise awareness of climate change and the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Through engaging and creative educational activities, participants were encouraged to imagine and design innovative digital solutions to environmental challenges using the Scratch programming language.
The event included interactive awareness sessions on climate and sustainability, followed by hands-on workshops where children developed their own digital animations and games inspired by environmental topics. The workshop concluded with project presentations and recognition of participants with certificates of appreciation for their creativity and initiative.
Orange Jordan emphasized that this initiative reflects its commitment to empowering future generations, combining digital education with environmental awareness to create a positive societal impact. The company highlighted that technology and education are powerful tools for fostering innovation, encouraging children to explore programming while understanding the importance of protecting our planet. The initiative underscores Orange Jordan’s ongoing dedication to sustainability, innovation, and preparing youth to become future change-makers.
This workshop is part of Orange Group’s broader efforts to promote digital inclusion and climate responsibility. Over the past three years, the SuperCoders program has trained approximately 1,369 children from 13 countries, including 94 children from Jordan.
