The management of the Freedom Flotilla, which seeks to break the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip, announced that the largest ship in the convoy, the Spanish vessel Alma, was attacked by an incendiary drone at the port of Sidi Bou Said, causing a fire on board. The crew managed to bring the fire under control, and no injuries were reported.

This attack comes less than 24 hours after the flotilla’s main boat, Family, was similarly targeted early Tuesday, also resulting in a fire but no injuries among the crew members on board.
Thiago Avila, a member of the flotilla’s management, said the drone targeted the ship while it was sailing in international waters near the Tunisian coast. He confirmed that the situation is under control and that an investigation is underway to determine the source of the attack and those responsible.
In the same context, the flotilla’s media committee released a video purportedly showing the moment the Family was struck. Meanwhile, the flotilla’s spokesperson stressed that the convoy “will continue its journey despite threats and sabotage attempts.”
The Freedom Flotilla consists of several civilian boats and ships aiming to break the blockade on Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid, amid growing security challenges in light of regional escalation.
