AI is no longer just a future technology we anticipate arriving; it has become part of the educational and knowledge reality we live in today. With the emergence of generative AI tools like ChatGPT, the way learners seek knowledge, write down their ideas, solve problems, and even develop their creative projects has changed. In the field of talent and creativity, a deeper question emerges: does AI help gifted children and students unleash their productive and creative energy, or might it gradually push them toward depending on a machine that thinks and produces on their behalf?اضافة اعلان

We won't answer this question with a simple yes or no, because AI in itself is neither purely a creative tool nor a creativity-killing one; its value is determined by how it's used, the purpose behind that use, and the role the human mind retains in the thinking process. ChatGPT can support idea generation, cognitive organization, and creative thinking, when used within inquiry-based, reflective, and critical learning.

Talent Facing a New Opportunity
A gifted student typically has a high capacity for learning, connecting ideas, discovering relationships, asking unconventional questions, and searching for innovative and new solutions to problems. Here, AI can become a cognitive partner, expanding the space for thinking rather than replacing thinking itself.

A gifted student could, for example, use ChatGPT to ask it to generate dozens of hypotheses about a scientific problem, or to present conflicting viewpoints on a particular issue, or suggest new research questions or discuss an innovative idea, and then the student themselves analyzes these ideas, selects the best among them, develops them, and rebuilds them.

In this way, AI and its tools become a generator of options, while the human mind remains responsible for selection, evaluation, and creativity. This point is extremely important in nurturing gifted students, because the true goal of education isn't to produce a student who can obtain an answer quickly, but to build a student who can ask a question no one else has thought of.

Perhaps the greatest shift AI has brought to education is the learner's move from the traditional search for an answer, to the possibility of entering an ongoing intellectual dialogue with an intelligent system.

When Does AI Become a Threat to Creativity?
The danger doesn't lie in using ChatGPT itself, but in the kind of use that eliminates the learner's mental effort. When a student asks AI to write an entire research paper, formulate the content and ideas, choose the title, and analyze the results, then presents it under their own name without genuinely taking part in the intellectual process, we're no longer looking at AI-supported education, but at learning being replaced by mechanized achievement.

Here, a more serious problem emerges specifically among gifted students: a child with a high, elevated capacity for generating ideas may stop exercising that capacity if they grow accustomed to getting ready-made ideas within seconds.

The gifted student is the one who can ask questions, discover new problems, evaluate AI's answers rather than accepting them blindly. They are the one who can connect different fields of knowledge. They are the one who turns ideas into genuine innovations. They are the one who uses AI ethically and consciously, because the gifted student is the one who uses AI, and the one who leads it.
