Minister of Transport Wajeeh Azayzeh, who is also the chairman of the board of directors of the Land Transport Regulatory Commission, and representatives of the Jordan Customs Department discussed with the concerned Egyptian authorities the decision to raise the fine on Jordanian trucks.

The Jordanians argued that the move will impact Jordanian truckers and the transport between the two countries.

Azayzeh thanked the Egyptian side for their prompt response in rescinding the decision.

Separately, the transport minister contacted his Saudi counterpart regarding a decision on the lifespan of passenger vehicles operating on the route between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, and the Saudi minister pledged to “positively consider the matter.” No other details were provided.
