Amman Chamber of Industry Exports Rise Last Year
Exports of the Amman Chamber of Industry increased by 9.2% last year, a clear indication of the expansion of export destinations into non-traditional African, European, and non-Arab Asian markets.اضافة اعلان

According to the Chamber’s statistical data, Amman’s industrial exports reached JOD 7.490 billion last year, compared with JOD 6.860 billion in 2024.

All industrial sectors recorded export growth during the same period, with the exception of construction industries, which declined slightly by 1%. Food industries recorded the highest increase, rising by 17.5%.

Four Arab and foreign countries accounted for more than half of the Chamber’s exports last year—India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq—with total exports valued at JOD 4.140 billion, compared with JOD 4.119 billion in 2024.

Exports to India rose by 20.3% last year, reaching JOD 1.211 billion, compared with JOD 1.007 billion in 2024.

Exports to Saudi Arabia increased by 6.7%, totaling JOD 855 million last year, compared with JOD 801 million the previous year.

Exports to Iraq also rose by 4.5%, reaching JOD 1.016 billion last year, compared with JOD 972 million in 2024.

In contrast, exports to the United States declined by 9.1% last year, falling to JOD 1.217 billion from JOD 1.339 billion in 2024. Despite the decline, the United States remained the leading destination for Amman’s industrial exports among Arab and foreign countries.

The statistics also showed a sharp increase in exports to Syria, which rose by 268.8% last year to nearly JOD 270 million, compared with JOD 73 million in 2024.

By geographical distribution, Arab countries ranked first in receiving Amman’s exports last year with a value of JOD 3.554 billion, followed by non-Arab Asian countries with JOD 1.759 billion, and North American countries with JOD 1.270 billion.

Exports to European Union countries in 2025 amounted to around JOD 507 million, while exports to non-EU European countries reached JOD 242 million. Exports to African countries totaled JOD 40 million, South American countries JOD 66 million, and other countries JOD 51 million.

Sector-wise, exports last year were distributed as follows: mining industries with JOD 1.699 billion; chemical industries and cosmetics with JOD 1.420 billion; and engineering, electrical, and information technology industries with JOD 1.258 billion.

Exports of food, agricultural, and livestock industries amounted to JOD 986 million, while pharmaceutical and medical supplies industries recorded JOD 754 million. Leather and textiles exports reached JOD 527 million.

The remaining exports were distributed among plastic and rubber industries with JOD 315 million; packaging, paper, cardboard, and office supplies with JOD 278 million; construction industries with JOD 132 million; and finally wood industries and furniture with around JOD 22 million.

It is worth noting that the Amman Chamber of Industry, established in 1962, currently has 8,600 industrial establishments as members, employing about 159,000 male and female workers, with capital estimated at nearly JOD 5 billion.
