Accompanied by Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, Minister for the Middle East, Lord Cameron is scheduled to meet with Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, reiterating the UK's dedication to regional stability and the two-state solution.

Additionally, he will convey the UK's support for a humanitarian pause to facilitate aid delivery to Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

During his visit to Jordan, the Foreign Secretary will participate in high-level talks and engage with Safad.

The discussions aim to prevent regional escalation, promote progress toward a two-state solution, and secure unimpeded humanitarian aid to Gaza.

This diplomatic effort reflects the UK's proactive role in addressing the complex challenges in the region.

According to a statement by his office, the Foreign Secretary will underline the need to work together and avoid any further spread of the conflict and the need for more humanitarian pauses, to get all the hostages out and life-saving aid into Gaza to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

According to the statement, the UK has doubled its provision of humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people to 60 million euros and delivered 74 tonnes of aid to Gaza.

He added, “In every contact with Israel, we have urged unhindered humanitarian access and repeated humanitarian pauses to allow aid to enter Gaza.”

Meanwhile, the statement added that the UK has called on Israel to take immediate and concrete steps to tackle record-high settler violence in the occupied West Bank.

They strongly condemn the violent acts committed by extremist settlers, which are terrorizing Palestinian communities. Those responsible for the violence must be brought to justice.

Ahead of the visit, Lord Cameron stated “No one wants to see this conflict go on for a moment longer than necessary. But for a ceasefire to work, it needs to be sustainable.”
