LONDON — Journalists employed by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) have accused
their organization of displaying bias in favor of Israel in its coverage of Israel’s war on Gaza.اضافة اعلان

They allege that the BBC tends to emphasize the plight of Israeli victims while neglecting the
suffering of Palestinian victims and omitting the historical context of Palestine.

In a letter addressed to Al Jazeera English, eight BBC journalists claimed that the organization applies double standards when reporting on the victims of Israeli aggression against Palestinians compared to those in the Russian-Ukrainian war, Al-Jazeera reported.

The journalists, who preferred to remain anonymous due to concerns about potential
repercussions from their employer, highlighted a lack of critical examination in the BBC's
coverage of Israeli claims related to the Gaza conflict.

They argued that the BBC failed to report
events professionally and did not contribute to public understanding of the human rights
violations occurring in Gaza.

Questioning the editorial policy, the journalists asked, "With thousands of Palestinians killed
since last October 7, what threshold must be reached for our editorial policy to change?"
They pointed out the selective use of terms such as "massacre" and "atrocities" in BBC coverage, asserting that these terms are applied only when discussing the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and not Israel.
This portrayal, they argued, aligns with the overall policy followed by the British Broadcasting Corporation in its reporting on the Israeli war in Gaza.

The journalists urged the BBC to reconsider its policy, taking into account the findings of official and neutral humanitarian organizations regarding the Israeli actions in Gaza. They called for equal treatment of all civilians in the BBC's coverage.
The BBC has faced extensive criticism for its reporting on the Israeli aggression in Gaza, along with measures taken against some journalists expressing opposition to Israel's actions.
In October, the organization investigated six Arab journalists who praised the Al-Aqsa Flood
operation by the Palestinian resistance against Israeli occupation on the “X” platform and
subsequently suspended them from work.
