In the northern highlands, temperatures will range from 18 to 8°C; in the Sharah Highlands, from 19 to 7°C; in desert areas, from 20 to 8°C; in the plains, from 19 to 9°C; in the northern Jordan Valley, from 23 to 15°C; in the southern Jordan Valley, from 26 to 17°C; at the Dead Sea, from 24 to 16°C; and in the Gulf of Aqaba, from 26 to 16°C.
On Friday, the Kingdom will gradually be affected by a cold and moist air mass associated with a low-pressure system centered north of Cyprus. A noticeable and sharp drop in temperatures is expected, with cold and partly cloudy conditions turning cloudy. Rainfall will begin in northern regions and later extend to most parts of the country.
During the evening hours, the cold front accompanying the low-pressure system will cross the Kingdom, bringing intensified rainfall that may be heavy in northern and central regions, as well as southwestern areas, in addition to the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Thunderstorms and hail may occur at times, potentially leading to flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas and a rise in water levels.
Preliminary analyses indicate a chance of intermittent snow mixed with rain over the high peaks of the Sharah Mountains during the late night hours and early Saturday morning, for a short period. Winds will be westerly to northwesterly, active at times with strong gusts.
On Saturday, temperatures will drop slightly, with cold and partly cloudy to cloudy conditions persisting. There will remain a chance of occasional rain showers in parts of the western regions. By evening, the likelihood of rainfall will weaken, and winds will be moderate northwesterly, becoming occasionally active.
