Cold Weather Expected Over the Weekend; Weather Depression to Affect the Kingdom on Saturday
The Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said the Kingdom will experience relatively cold to cold weather over the next four days, as it gradually comes under the influence of a cold and moist air mass starting Saturday. This will be accompanied by a drop in temperatures and intermittent rainfall in several areas.

According to the JMD, Thursday will see temperatures around 2–3°C above the seasonal average, with relatively cold conditions prevailing in most regions and mild weather in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. High-altitude clouds are expected, and winds will be moderate southeasterly.

At night, cold weather will prevail in general, with light northwesterly winds. The department warned of reduced horizontal visibility in the morning hours due to fog over the northern highlands and parts of the northeastern Badia, as well as the possibility of frost formation over the high Sharah Mountains during the early morning hours.

On Friday, temperatures will drop slightly, with relatively cold conditions across most areas and mild weather in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Some low clouds are expected, along with moderate westerly to northwesterly winds that may become occasionally active.

During nighttime hours, the weather will be cold and partly cloudy, with a chance of light, scattered rain showers in limited parts of the northern regions. The JMD cautioned against reduced horizontal visibility at night due to fog over the high mountain areas.

Weather Depression Centered Over Cyprus

On Saturday, the Kingdom will be affected by a cold and moist air mass associated with a weather depression centered over the island of Cyprus. Temperatures will decrease slightly, and the weather will be cold and partly to occasionally fully cloudy, with intermittent rain showers expected in the northern and central regions, as well as limited parts of the southwestern and eastern areas. Winds will be moderate southwesterly, becoming occasionally active.

The department urged caution due to reduced horizontal visibility in the morning hours caused by fog over mountainous areas and parts of the plains, dust in Badia regions, and the possibility of slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall.

On Sunday, the Kingdom will remain under the influence of the cold and moist air mass, with temperatures continuing to drop. The weather will be cold, cloudy, and rainy in the northern and central regions, as well as parts of the southwestern and eastern areas. Rainfall is expected to weaken during nighttime hours, while southwesterly winds will become active with occasionally strong gusts, raising dust in Badia regions.
