It is that time of the year when we discuss the next up-and-coming flagship from the geniuses over at Apple headquarters.اضافة اعلان

The iPhone 14, unlike its predecessor, is set on expanding its offerings by shaking its features up, a welcoming act as the iPhone 13, almost unanimously, was deemed as having the least amount of improvements to its systems and hardware over its younger counterpart.

Let us see what is in store with the upcoming launch of Apple 14 lineup of the iPhone.

Release dates and pricing

Apple usually holds its iPhone event in the second week of September, on a Tuesday. Following this pattern, the iPhone 13 Pro models were unveiled on September 14.

If the current trend holds, the iPhone 14 Pro models could be unveiled on September 13, 2022. Of course, nothing is official yet, and it will not be for a long time.

We anticipate that the iPhone 14 Pro models will have a price similar to that of the iPhone 13 Pro models. The Pro models have a starting price of JD750.

Upping the design ante

The Apple iPhone 13 Pro models had the same design as the iPhone 12 Pro models, with flat edges and a design that was more in line with the iPhone 4 and 5 than the rounded edges we had grown accustomed to since iPhone 6.

Rumors on the web suggest that the iPhone 14 Pro models may change things up, with talk of a punch hole front camera. It is possible that the Pro models will have a pill-shaped cutout beneath the display to house the front camera and Face ID. There are also rumors that the protruding rear camera in the next iPhone will be flush with the back of the phone.

The top of the iPhone has a smaller notch than its predecessor, a welcome change for those that were not fans of the notch to begin with.

Displays – amping up the Hertz

All 2022 iPhones will almost certainly have an OLED display, similar to the ones the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models have. The iPhone 14 Pro models are also expected to have an adaptive refresh rate between 10Hz and 120Hz, similar to the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, though perhaps the ProMotion technology will filter down to the standard models as well.

The iPhone 13 Pro has a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch display. The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are expected to have the same feature set. However, it has been suggested that the bezels around the display will be thinner.

Some previous speculation suggested that in-display fingerprint sensors could work alongside Face ID, which is a plausible possibility. There is also speculation that the iPhone 14 Pro models will have taller displays to accommodate the previously mentioned pill-shaped cut out.

Camera updates – photo-magic galore

Both the Apple iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max have a triple rear camera, consisting of a main wide sensor, an ultra-wide sensor, and a telephoto sensor, and this configuration is expected to last until 2022.

There have been a few rumors that the iPhone 14 Pro models will have a wide-angle camera with a 1/1.3-inch 48MP CMOS image sensor and support 8K video recording, but it is still early days. Allegedly the front camera on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will be upgraded to include autofocus and a wider aperture of f/1.9, however this is yet to be completely confirmed.

We anticipate that the iPhone 14 Pro models will continue to include an additional lens and features such as Macro and ProRES over the iPhone 14 standard models. It is unclear what will change in 2022, but improvements over the 2021 models are likely.

Hardware upgrades and software updates

With Apple adopting 5G with all iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models, it is almost certain that all iPhone 14 models will be 5G compatible.

It is also possible that the iPhone 14 Pro models will use the A16 Bionic chip, assuming Apple sticks to its chip naming conventions. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max had an extra core for their GPU, and this could be the case again for the iPhone 14 Pro models, helping to differentiate them from the standard models.

It is been hinted that the standard iPhone 14 models will retain the A15 chip from the iPhone 13 models, while the iPhone 14 Pro models will switch to the A16 chip, which would be a larger difference than the iPhone 13 models featured, both in terms of raw power and responsiveness.

The next major software release will be iOS 16; it has been said that there will be no major redesign, but we can expect new features and tweaks to existing software.

In terms of storage, the iPhone 13 Pro models have 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB options, so we would expect the same from the iPhone 14 Pro models, though the Pro models may start at 256GB. All models will also have 6GB of RAM, according to reports from multiple sources.

The rundown

Overall, it would appear that the iPhone 14 is bound to make waves amongst Apple fans as the upgrades this time around seem to be quite significant.

All Apple fans around Jordan are no doubt keenly looking forward to more features being unveiled. Rest assured that we will be on top of them the moment they drop.
