Men—especially from Gen Z and the millennial generation—are increasingly turning to Pinterest, now making up more than one-third of the platform’s 570 million active users worldwide. Interestingly, this demographic is challenging traditional stereotypes about social media behavior, according to a recent report by the platform.

For the first time, Pinterest released a report highlighting the rising usage of the platform by men, particularly from Gen Z, noting a significant influx of male users in recent times.

Amid the noise of social media, Pinterest remains a unique space for exploring personal interests and engaging with creative content. Its emphasis on visual search and inspiring content makes it an ideal refuge from digital clutter. The report found that around 65% of men globally are seeking a space for honest self-expression—something Pinterest distinctly provides.

The platform’s visual appeal seems to have encouraged men to focus more on wellness and self-care. Searches for “Pilates clothes” jumped by 300%, along with other fitness-related terms.

Interest also surged in areas like rock climbing (+95%), hydration and drinking water (+50%), and electrolytes (+45%). Male users are showing a growing interest in hair and skincare. This gender shift is especially noticeable among Gen Z, with 46% saying they use Pinterest for outfit inspiration. Searches for “men’s manicure” rose by 115%.

Men’s interests also span practical matters. Searches for “investment app” soared by 620%, “stock investing” by 360%, and “budget planning” by 285%. As more of them become fathers and homeowners, searches related to home decor and parenting content have spiked—for example, searches for “father and son” increased by 415%.

This new demographic represents an ideal audience for brands. The report notes that nearly half of the men on Pinterest are entirely new users, underscoring the platform’s growing influence and ability to attract fresh audiences.
