Google announced on Tuesday the launch of its AI Mode—an AI-powered search experience—for Spanish-speaking users.
This expansion allows Google’s interactive search interface to reach a wider audience, enabling users to ask questions in natural language, engage in back-and-forth conversations, upload images, explore complex topics, and much more.

The Spanish rollout follows Google’s major global expansion of AI Mode in August, when the feature became available in 180 other countries, according to TechCrunch. Previously, AI Mode was only accessible in the United States, the United Kingdom, and India.
During the August launch, Google also offered advanced AI capabilities to Google AI Ultra subscribers, allowing them to make restaurant reservations via AI Mode. The company plans to extend support to other types of appointments and ticket purchases in the future.
Google is rapidly integrating AI across its products and services, often announcing multiple launches simultaneously. For instance, the company also announced Tuesday that interactive photo editing will be available for all Android users in the United States.
Additionally, Google’s affordable Google AI Plus subscription, first launched in Indonesia, will now expand to 40 more countries.
This move follows OpenAI’s recent ChatGPT Go plan, which launched in India in August and in Indonesia on Tuesday. ChatGPT Go is a mid-tier subscription between OpenAI’s free plan and the premium ChatGPT Plus plan at $20 per month.
Subscribers to ChatGPT Go receive ten times higher usage limits for sending questions or messages, generating images, and uploading files. The plan also allows ChatGPT to remember previous conversations better, offering more personalized responses over time.
Earlier this month, Google announced that AI Mode now also supports Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese.
With so many AI products, users may find it difficult to distinguish between different features, such as Google AI Mode and AI Overview.
Google AI Mode is a separate, immersive, interactive experience where users communicate directly with Gemini AI.
