According to various reports, here are 9 Gmail hacks you might not know:
1. Undo Send
You can retract an email within 30 seconds of sending it.
How: Click the Settings icon (top right) > See all settings > General tab. Find the "Undo Send" option and set the cancellation period to 30 seconds. Now, you’ll have a half-minute window to stop an accidental email.
2. Delete Promotional Emails in Bulk
You can clear out promotional clutter all at once.
How: Type "unsubscribe" into the Gmail search bar. This will filter all emails containing that link. Select all the results and hit the delete button to clear them out.
3. Confidential Mode
To make an email private, you can disable the recipient's ability to copy, print, or forward it.
How: When composing a new message, click the Lock icon (Confidential Mode) at the bottom to enable these security features.
4. Offline Mode
You can access your emails even without an internet connection.
How: Go to Settings > See all settings > Offline tab. Check the box to "Enable offline mail."
5. Schedule Send
You can write an email now and have it sent automatically at a later time.
How: Instead of clicking the "Send" button, click the downward arrow next to it. Select "Schedule send" and choose your preferred date and time.
6. Snooze Emails
If you aren't ready to deal with an email yet, you can set a reminder for it to reappear later.
How: Hover over the email and click the Clock icon (Snooze) on the right. Choose a date, and the email will pop back to the top of your inbox at that time.
7. Organize with Labels
Labels are a highly effective way to organize your inbox into categories like "Work," "Personal," or "Travel."
How: Select an email, click the Labels icon in the toolbar, and create or apply the desired label.
8. Create Email Templates
If you find yourself writing the same response repeatedly, you can create custom templates.
How: Compose a new message and type your text. Click the three dots (More options) in the bottom corner > Templates > Save draft as template > Save as new template.
9. Keyboard Shortcuts
Save time by navigating Gmail using only your keyboard.
How: Go to Settings > See all settings > General tab. Scroll down to "Keyboard shortcuts" and turn them on. (For example, pressing 'C' opens a new compose window).
