Last Thursday evening, the House of Literature for Culture and Arts in Zarqa hosted its 260th monthly meeting, represented by its founder and director, the storyteller Ahmed Abu Haliwa, and the director of the House of Poetry / Mafraq, Mr. Faisal Al-Sarhan, and his accompanying delegation, which consisted of the poet Khaled Al-Sharman and the poet Aqel Al-Khawaldeh.

The meeting was the first seminar to discuss the House of Poetry, which was established in Mafraq in 2015 with the support of the Emirate of Sharjah. This seminar was far from the usual format of poetry evenings that the House of Poetry has been holding and organizing for years.
This is what made Mr. Faisal Al-Sarhan explain the reasons, factors, and goals that accompanied the establishment of the House of Poetry in Mafraq and the challenges that it faced and is facing. Poet Aqel Al-Khawaldeh and then poet Khaled Al-Sharman also spoke on this topic before they were all honored with the House of Literature Shield for Culture and Arts presented to the House of Poetry / Mafraq.
After that came the social interaction segment (the break), which is a half-hour segment, during which the male and female patrons of the literary house can exchange dialogues on various topics, as well as converse and discuss with the guests of the meeting and get to know them better in a warm, intimate and sweet cultural atmosphere.
The creative contributions began with a percussion performance by the artist Iyad Subha, followed by the poet Aqel Al-Khawaldeh and the poet Khaled Al-Sharman. As poetry was present creatively, it was also present in recitation through the creative Ahmed Hussein, and poetry was present again through the poet Muhammad Al-Faraya, the poet Raafat Sufian and the poet Qusay Idris.
The story was resolved in this meeting by the storyteller Dr. Hala Al-Suwaidat, the storyteller Taher Adnan Asfour, and the young girl Ghazal Ajawi, who was accompanied by her grandfather, the esteemed Jordanian actor Mazen Ajawi, and his wife.
The meeting also witnessed the participation of the storyteller of the House of Literature, Mahmoud Juma, as well as the presentation of a speech by Engineer Bahaa Al-Ahmad on his first visit to the House of Literature for Culture and Arts and his vision of its diverse and valuable literary, creative and social worlds.
It is worth mentioning that a deep dialogue took place between the delegation of the House of Poetry from Mafraq and the pioneers of the House of Literature in Zarqa, some of whom contributed by providing interventions, questions and impressionistic criticism about the poetic and narrative texts presented in this rich and long meeting that lasted for eight hours
