Workshop on marine environment, sharks held

AMMAN — Over the course of two days, the Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan completed a training program for those studying the environment and monitoring sharks.اضافة اعلان

The workshop included several topics looking at the relationship between sharks and humans, the types and species of sharks, ways to identify them, their habitats, the process of reproduction, characteristics and features that can distinguish sharks from other fish and other living organisms, their physiological characteristics and threats to sharks, both natural and human.

This program was held under the project, “Using Citizens’ Knowledge in Monitoring Coral Deterioration and the Population of Threatened Sea Turtles in the Red Sea” being implemented by the society. 

The program was held with the support of the Small Grants Program, the Global Environment Facility, and the UNDP. Representatives from various sectors related to the marine environment participated in the training, and at the end of the training program certificates were given to those who passed the exam.
