This global premiere marks a significant moment in Lexus’ evolution, bridging the engineering legacy of iconic models with an ambitious vision for an electrified future.

The LFA name carries considerable weight in the Lexus lineage. Following in the path of the Toyota 2000GT and the original Lexus LFA, the new concept is shaped by the conviction that certain car-making techniques and skills must be preserved and passed on.

This guiding principle, known as ‘Toyota’s Shikinen Sengu’, draws from the Japanese Shinto tradition of periodic renewal not merely maintaining what exists, but evolving it with intent and reverence. The Lexus LFA Concept is its automotive expression, developed by veterans relaying knowledge to the next generation of engineers.

The BEV sports car concept has been developed in close collaboration with TOYOTA Gazoo Racing’s GR GT and GR GT3, sharing core technologies, engineering disciplines and performance aspirations across all three models.

The Lexus LFA Concept employs the same foundational engineering as its racing counterparts, including a light, high-rigidity all-aluminum body frame, while exploring what is distinctly achievable through BEV architecture.

The result is a concept shaped equally by motorsport-grade rigor and the freedom that electrification makes possible to deliver a BEV sports car that exceeds customer expectations.

Three principles define the concept’s engineering guidelines – a low center of gravity, lightweight construction with high structural rigidity and an uncompromising approach to aerodynamic performance.

Together, these create the physical conditions for a driving experience that is precise, responsive and deeply connected. Rather than restricting the sports car formula, electrification has expanded its horizons, creating new opportunities for innovation in both packaging and performance. Leveraging its leadership in electrification, Lexus has envisioned a sports car for the BEV era that is designed to maximize driving enjoyment while redefining what an electric sports car can achieve.

At the heart of the concept is a design and experience philosophy Lexus terms ‘Discover Immersion’.

The intent is to dissolve the boundary between driver and machine to create a state in which operating the vehicle becomes an extension of the driver’s own instincts.

The cockpit has been refined around an ideal driving position, with functional components concentrated around the driver’s seat and a steering wheel that requires no hand repositioning.

The overall interior is intentionally sparse, creating a minimalist environment in which every element is purposeful, and nothing is extraneous.

In form, the Lexus LFA Concept inherits the sculptural qualities of the original LFA while achieving proportions of its own.

Design aspires to a universality that transcends regional or generational context, producing a sports car of enduring appeal shaped by what engineering and electrification now make possible.

Through this concept, Lexus affirms that the future of sports car-making is not a departure from its heritage its continuation.
