Expats remittances stood at $1.1 billion end of April

AMMAN — Remittances from Jordanian workers abroad recorded an increase of $16.4 million, or 1.5 percent, during the first four months of this year, compared with $1.1 billion in the corresponding period in 2021, according to Al-Mamlaka TV. Data released by the Central Bank of Jordan said the expatriate remittances in April alone also recorded an increase of $11.6 million, or 4.3 percent, to $281.4 million, compared with the corresponding month in 2021. Remittances throughout 2021 amounted to $3.4 billion.
