AMMAN — The number of charter flights to
King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba in the first quarter of this year
decreased by 32percent, despite Jordan Tourism Board (JTB)’s efforts to
encourage such type of flights, Hala News said.
During the first quarter of the year, 133 chartered
flights landed at King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, compared to 165
in the same period of 2021.
According to JTB, the total number of passengers at the
airport in Aqaba increased by 32.6 percent during the first quarter of this
year, reaching 12,326, compared to 9,295 passengers during the same period last
year 2021.
