Jordan has made progress in the “Youth, Technology, and Jobs” project, implemented in partnership with the World Bank, focusing on enhancing youth digital skills, increasing employment opportunities in the technology sector, and developing e-government services, within the framework of the country’s economic modernization vision.اضافة اعلان

According to an evaluation report, the project has received total funding of approximately $200 million, including a $163.1 million loan from the World Bank (81.5%) and a $36.9 million grant from the concessional financing facility (18.5%).

As of October 2025, about $63.82 million had been disbursed, representing roughly 31.7% of the total allocated funding, which the World Bank described as “ongoing progress”, while noting the need to accelerate implementation in the coming period.

The project is scheduled to continue until February 28, 2027, following a previous extension, aiming to achieve its ambitious goals of supporting Jordan’s digital economy and generating employment in the IT sector.

Digital Skills Development

7,999 youth trained in modern digital skills, including 4,523 women and 110 Syrian refugees.

New digital curriculum introduced in public schools for grades 7–12, reaching 402,757 students.

Partnerships with 22 universities to enhance students’ skills and prepare them for the digital job market through specialized training and mentorship programs.

Digital Employment and Job Opportunities

4,310 new digital jobs created, including direct employment of program graduates, freelance support through digital platforms, and entrepreneurship opportunities in startups.

2,612 youth benefited from the Digital Talent Program.

724 individuals supported through freelance work initiatives.

548 opportunities created through expansion agreements with tech companies operating in Jordan.

Enhancing the Digital Business Environment

102 startups supported and connected to investors and regional companies, attracting private investments exceeding $14.97 million.

The “Jordan Source” e-gateway program attracted 12 international tech companies to establish or expand operations in Jordan, supporting digital service exports and local workforce capacity building.

Government Digital Transformation

178 new e-government services launched.

Over 52.8 million digital government transactions completed.

30% of government services enabled for electronic payment, with plans to expand digital transformation further in the coming period.
