White House: Talks with Tehran remain on the agenda despite drone strike
White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt said on Tuesday that the upcoming talks between U.S. envoy Steve Whitcove and Iranian officials “remain on the agenda for the time being,” following the U.S. military’s announcement of downing an Iranian drone in the Arabian Sea.اضافة اعلان

Leavitt added in a statement to Fox News that Whitcove “is scheduled to hold talks with the Iranians later this week. They remain on the agenda for now, but President Donald Trump, of course, has several options available, and the use of military force is one of them.”

A U.S. fighter jet shot down a “hostile” Iranian drone that approached a U.S. aircraft carrier while it was sailing in the Arabian Sea on Tuesday, according to a U.S. military spokesperson.

The Axios website cited two informed sources on Tuesday evening saying that Iran requested changes to the location and format of the nuclear negotiations with the United States scheduled for Friday.
