The statement was made during a student workshop on the role of the UN and its goals, held in Amman to celebrate His Majesty King Abdullah’s birthday, according to local media outlets.

‘Shortcomings’“The UN has failed, till this moment, to bring an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine, and has not taken any decisions regarding the crimes and massacres committed by occupation authorities on a daily basis,” he said.

These actions are considered war crimes against Palestinians, he added.

He also discussed the UN's shortcomings in resolving conflicts in Syria, Yemen, and Libya.

Fayez called for the UN to play a more effective role in bringing peace to the region, ensuring the safety and freedom of its people, and ending conflicts around the world in line with its role and objectives.
