AMMAN — Reservations for travel and tourism companies during
the Eid Al-Adha holiday increased to 70 percent compared to the Eid Al-Fitr,
during which reservation rates did not exceed 50 percent.
According to Basim Alghalayini, secretary of board of the
Jordanian Association of Travel and Tourism Agents, hotel room and flight seat
reservations made by companies ranged between 60 percent and 70 percent during
the Eid Al-Adha holiday, despite a 20 percent to 30 percent decrease in
international flight prices.
Top destinations: Turkey, Sharm El-Sheikh, and GeorgiaThe demand for travel during the Eid Al-Adha holiday,
primarily for tourism purposes, focused primarily on Turkey, followed by Sharm
El-Sheikh and Georgia.
Hala News, reported that Alghalayini said that the failure
to reach the desired reservation levels to two main factors. Firstly, the
immediate connection of high school exams right after the holiday led to a
decrease in travel inclination.
Secondly, private sector employees faced delayed salary
payments for the month of June, which further weakened the desire to travel.
